ART Unpacking the Studio: Celebrating the Jehangir Sabavala Bequest at Jehangir Nicholson Art Foundation
This exhibition comprises the late artist’s paintings and personal articles such as diaries, sketchbooks and portfolios that were donated by his wife Shirin Sabavala to the Jehangir Nicholson Art Foundation, which is housed inside the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya. The show, which has been curated by Ranjit Hoskote, places Jehangir Sabavala’s work in the context of his artistic inspirations, his education in Mumbai, London and Paris, and his practice among his peers from the 1930s to the 1950s. Tickets to enter the museum are priced at Rs 70 per head for visitors above the age of 12, Rs 20 per head for children between the ages of five and 12 and Rs 300 per head for foreigners above the age of 12.

MUSIC City Sessions with Moniker + Eng. at Cafe Nemo

WALKS Heritage Days Walks
Every year, Alliance Française celebrates Heritage Days, a European convention during which people can, on certain days, visit heritage buildings that are not normally open to the public. In Mumbai, Heritage Days is a series of walks organised by the French cultural organisation. On Sunday, September 20, from 9.30am, journalist Rafique Baghdadi will lead a tour of Grant Road’s single-screen cinema halls, which will be begin at B. Merwan’s, located opposite Grant Road station on the east side. On Monday, September 21, at 6 pm, Baghdadi will conduct a walk through Bohri Mohalla, which will start at Seva Niketan, opposite Hume High School on J. J. Road in Byculla. On Tuesday, September 22, from 9.30 am, he will take participants on a tour of Irani cafes around Metro cinema in Dhobi Talao, which will commence inside Kyani and Co. On Wednesday, September 23, from 9.30am, architect David Cardoz will conduct a walk through Bandra. The tour will begin at Bandra fort. All the walks are free. To register, email sheryn@afindia.org.

MUSIC Ustad Nizamuddin Khan Tabla Utsav at Karnataka Sangha

This bi-annual event during which diners get to eat across a selection of fine-dining restaurants at discounted rates is celebrating its fifth anniversary this month.
